Medication Look-Up: Basic Basket and Supplemental Plans

Use the links listed below to search listings of the medications covered by the basic healthcare basket or by the supplemental insurance plans from each Kupat Cholim.

Coverage may be dependent on meeting diagnostic criteria and/or other clinical factors specified in the listings (in Hebrew).

Medications in the Healthcare Basket

Medications included in the Healthcare Basket are provided to anyone covered by national insurance (anyone entitled to national insurance/paying Bituach Leumi contributions).

  • Ministry of Health database - Searchable database with a listing of all drugs that are registered, or have been registered in the past, in the drug register of the State of Israel. Search by name or active ingredient. Follow links to find conditions for coverage. All is in Hebrew, so seek help if necessary, or try the translate feature in your browser.

Medications Covered by Supplemental Health Plans

Those who have a supplemental health insurance may be entitled to 50%t or more coverage of some medications which are not included in the Healthcare Basket, or are prescribed outside the conditions specified by the basket.

The pharmacy Shor Tabachnik has prepared a price list of drugs marketed in Israel on their website.  The displayed price is the full non-subsidized price, including VAT. The price at the pharmacy for kupah subsidized drugs may be substantially lower.
